Problem
A customer is trying to find Page View or Landing Page View events in the Pixee app but cannot locate them.
Example customer questions:
- I can’t find the Page View event
- Where is the Page View event?
- How do I track landing page views?
- I only see View Content and Add to Cart
- Why is Page View not listed in events?
- How do I track landing page views in Pixee?
Cause
Facebook Pixel automatically tracks the PageView event by default once the pixel is installed in the store.
Because of this, Pixee does not show Page View as a selectable event inside the Event list.
The events listed inside the Pixee event settings are additional eCommerce events, such as:
- View Category
- View Content
- Search
- Add to Cart
- Initiate Checkout
- Purchase
These are configurable events.
PageView is not listed because it is tracked automatically.
Solution
If a customer wants to track Page Views or Landing Page Views, they do not need to enable anything in Pixee.
Once the Facebook Pixel is connected to the store, the PageView event will automatically be tracked whenever a page loads.
Customers can verify this in Facebook tools.
How to Verify Page View Tracking
Customers can check Page View tracking using:
Facebook Events Manager
- Open Facebook Events Manager
- Select the connected Pixel
- Open Test Events
- Visit your store website
- You should see the PageView event firing
Facebook Pixel Helper (Chrome Extension)
- Install Facebook Pixel Helper
- Visit your store page or landing page
- The tool will show if the PageView event is triggered
